With more options than would appear obvious the classic CD Jewel Case format has been with us since the dawn of Compact Discs 1982.
The 3-piece design has surprising versatility with the simple choice of a clear, black, or white push fit tray piece. Though regularly used as an additional panel of artwork that interacts with the compact disc itself, utilising the clear tray, historically these tray insert variations have been used to hide creative and interesting packaging easter eggs. For example in the Radiohead Kid A release in October 2000, where a secret booklet was hidden beneath the black tray and limited to the first CD pressing. Sealed units are still being discovered!
Alpha Duplication offers various configurations of the classic Jewel case as well as Maxi Cases (the slim single style cases of the 90s) and Super Jewel Cases which are those brilliantly fancy boxes that appeared in the late 2000 with a stronger hinge and higher impact resistance.
We also offer slipcases, stickers, bellybands and obi strips to name a few. All tailored dress up this classic CD case.
